My research uses number-theoretic methods
as well as harmonic and complex analysis
in developing new theorems. My most recent
efforts have been concentrated in the areas of
zeta functions, Gaussians, quantum chaos, and spectral theory.
In the past, I often used supercomputers
as a means of obtaining insight as to
what should be true in these areas.
(I was a Fellow in the Minnesota Supercomputer Institute
from the late 1980s until about 2010.)
The following is my main book. It is
available in major libraries.
TITLE:The Selberg trace formula for PSL (2, IR) / Dennis A. Hejhal.
IMPRINT:Berlin ; New York : Springer-Verlag, 1976-1983.
2 vols. ; 25 cm.
