The first exam is on Thursday Oct 4 in Anderson Hall 350.

You may begin the exam at either 5:00PM or 6:00PM. It is 60 minutes long.
If you take the exam at 5:00pm, you must remain in your seat until time is
called at 6:00pm to end the exam. If you take the exam at 6:00pm, you
may leave when finished.

Be sure to bring your calculators, writing instruments, but no cell phones. If you must have them, then please make sure to turn them off and have them out of sight.

If you have a recurring conflict, please report it to your TA ASAP (definitely before the exam). The TAs are the ones reponsible for approving absence from the exams and for arranging a makeup exam instead.

Please make sure to record the right room and not to join a room of another class.

My advise for preparation is as follows: solve on your own (do not look at the solution) problems of the discussion session worksheets (especially the review one, which will be given to you on Oct 2nd) and problems solved in class making sure that you solve at least 15 problems per hour and then grade yourself. You may ignore problems which fit more the gateway exam as instructed in class (possibly review quickly the solution of some of them to expand your knowledge). I think that a main issue to be aware of when studying for the exam is being efficient with time (assuming you have learnt the material).
