Some Twin Cities tourist things to do

• Closest to the dorms and campus (easily walkable)
  • Weisman Art Museum, just steps from Vincent Hall.
  • Stone Arch Bridge, and the view of St. Anthony Falls.
  • St. Anthony Main and Riverplace, including Aster Cafe
  • Just across the Stone Arch Bridge:
    • Guthrie Theater-- take escalator to the Endless Bridge, and maybe even elevator to the 9th floor observatory.
      Their plays are good, with cheap Student Rush and/or Preview Week tickets.
    • Mill City Museum (also just across the Stone Arch Bridge).
    • Izzy's Ice Cream.
• A bit farther (but bike-able, e.g. with NiceRide MN bikes))
  • Uptown Minneapolis, and the Lakes (Bde Maka Ska/Lake of the Isles), including rental of canoes, stand-up paddleboards, and paddleboats.
  • Lake Harriet
  • Minnehaha Falls (at the 50th & Minnehaha light rail stop, so very accessible)
  • Walker Art Museum Sculpture Garden (free), and the museum is free certain days of the month; modern art, plus mini golf on the roof!
  • Minneapolis Institute of Art (free); more like a huge standard art museum.
• Further afield (but light rail works)
  • Mall of America
  • Science Museum of Minnesota
  • State Capitol and downtown St. Paul

  • Izzy's (mentioned above)
  • Grand Ole Creamery
  • Milkjam
  • Sebastian Joe's
  • Minnesota Nice Cream (soft serve novelty ice cream; go here if you want an ice cream picture for your instagram)
  • Cold Front (they have ice cream flights)
  • Nelson's (a lot of ice cream for not very much money)
• Breweries
  • Surly-- their food is also fantastic!
  • Summit
  • Lynlake
  • Bauhaus
  • Sociable Cider Werks
• Farmer's markets and festivals
  • Mill City Farmers Market
  • Stone Arch Bridge Festival
  • Minneapolis Aquatennial
  • Twin Cities Pride Festival
  • Minneapolis Music and Movies in the Parks
