This is the first half of a full-year course introducing both algebraic topology and manifold theory. The main topics include compact surfaces, the fundamental group, and basic homology and cohomology.

I've fixed the page on course textbooks. I got confused about the difference between John M. Lee's textbook on topological manifolds (the text for this course) and his text on smooth manifolds (which is possibly the text for next semester).
