Math 8306 (Algebraic Topology), Fall 2008
The goal of this first semester is to introduce some of the powerful
machinery made available by algebraic topology. Basic topics
include CW-complexes, simplicial sets, homology and cohomology,
homological algebra, cup products, and further topics.

The course textbook is Hatcher's "Algebraic topology." It is
available from the bookstore or can be
found online
on the author's webpage.
This semester we will be covering topics in chapters 0, 2, and 3,
but our coverage will not be directly from the text.
