Funded Ph.D. Positions

We look for candidates who

  • have aspirations and research experience in a.) computer vision, machine learning, and trustworthy AI, or b.) inter-disciplinary research at the intersection of deep neural networks and emerging domains; and
  • have excellent coding and software skills.

    Directed Research (for both Graduate and Undergraduate Students at UMN)

    a.) If you are interested in taking 1-3 semesters and doing research in my lab, please send a detailed CV and any queries to Dr. Catherine Zhao (qzhao at cs dot umn dot edu) with title [Directed research]. Priority will be given to those who have taken introductory computer vision (5561 or equivalent) and machine learning (5521 or equivalent) courses.

    b.) If you are interested in inter-disciplinary research at the intersection of computer science and manufacturing or biomedical engineering/psychiatry/neuroscience, there are opportunities to work jointly with collaborators from the industry or faculty in biomedical engineering/psychiatry/neuroscience.
