Due to the nature of an UMTYMP class, we can't have an official course web page. However, it does appear that all of the Calc III students have access to a computer and the internet, so we thought it might be useful to post certain solutions, hints, and other goodies.

An awful lot of material here is in the PDF format. You need Adobe's Acrobat Reader (or something similar) to read PDF documents. This software comes pre-installed on most computers, but you can always download a free copy at Adobe's website.

    Syllabus

  • Here's a copy of the Syllabus in PDF form. (This has the schedule of classes and your homework assignments.)

    Homework Help

  • Here's an animation which demonstrates a crucial step in many Stokes Theorem problems.
  • Here's an interactive version of the region of integration in problem 12.7 #30. This is almost exactly the same region as in #24. (This link uses Java, but most browsers should be able to handle it.)

    Professional Problem Solutions and Guidelines

  • Here are a few guidelines on how to write up your professional problems.
  • Here's a sketch of the solution to Section 12.4 #14 [pdf]
  • Here's a sketch of the solution to Section 12.7 #35 [pdf]
  • Here's a sketch of the solution to Section 13.3 #26 [pdf]

    Quiz/Exam Review Sheets

The formatting sometimes goes a little out of whack on these during the conversion to PDF format. Let us know if something looks so strange that you can't tell what it means!

  • Quiz 2 Review [pdf]
